Desserts and beverage are provided. Alliger Gets Beach Post

TUCKAHOE - Richard Dick' Alliger of Strathmere has been named as beach inspector for the Upper Township beaches at Strathmere by the Township Committee. Alliger, a 15-year resident of Strathmere, served the township in the post from 1977 through 1981 and is credited with creating a modem Upper Township Beach Patrol. As former beach inspector, Alliger originated many beach protection firsts, including a regular program of dune buildup. Alliger promised the Township would have one of the safest and best beaches on the coast. The beach patrol is now accepting applications for lifeguards for the Strathmere beaches for the summer Interested persons should write Beach Inspector Dick Alliger, Box 5, Strathmere, 08248 for an application.

Eucharist on Wednesdays STONE HARBOR - During the Lenten season the Holy Eucharist will be celebrated 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. A prayer and worship study group will meet following the Eucharist. Confirmation classes will, begin 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 7. Interested confirmation candidates should contact the rector prior to this date. The Episcopal Church Women are preparing Easter baskets which will be given to needy area families. Donations of canned goods and staples may be left in the Parish Hall. St. Mary's is continuing its winter scheduler The Holy Eucharist is celebrated 10 a.m. Sundays and Thursdays.
