County Trims Chamber Dues Cape May County Freeholders popped up on a Cape May County Chamber of Commerce list of "delinquent members" last week The freeholders weren't really delinquent. but reduced their usual annual dues of $7,500 to $2,500. an unpleasant surprise to chamber executive director Robert C. Patterson Jr. I Freeholder. William E. Sturm Jr said the county had to reduce the appropriation "to get within the budget cap " A do/cn years ago, the county was giving the chamber $2,500 a year plus office space for its visitor center, including janitorial service and utilities (except telephone). WHEN THE CHAMBER moved into its own building at the Parkway and Crest Haven Road, the county started giving a $7,500 appropriation. That was cut to $2,500 once before, in 1981.
