CAPE MAY - The city will provide an athlete's smorgasbord of activities in June with the running of three diverse sporting events Runners from all over the country are expected to pour into the city to par ticipate in the Annual Great Cape May Footrace June 4, sponsored by the Mall Merchants Association of the city. Race Day will offer a 5-kilometer preliminary fun race and the main event — 10-kilometer competition. On back to back weekends the city will sponsor the 1st Annual Cape May Triathalon
Wrestlers Start Well In Tourney

T II O V C II NOT finishing in the top three places. Eric Fhckenger. Tim Kelleher. Noel Ayala. Jim MacDonald, John Donaldson and Steven Jones did qualify for the Mid Atlantic Junior Olym pic Freestyle Champion ships to be held at Newark. Del May 20-21 Club president Hill Kelleher plans for the club to participate in several other qualifying lour naments. and will be hosting a freestyle qualifier for all age groups April 2. 1983 at the Teitelman School This was the largest tournament of its kind last year Kelleher also said that a dual meet against a Maryland freestyle club is in the plan ning stage for sometime in April
(June 18) and the 3rd Annual Cape May Classic Hobie Cat Regatta (June 25 and 26). THE TRIATHALON, a test of strength and endurance, is comprised of three grueling events — a one-mile ocean swim, a 14-mile run through the streets and a forty-mile bicycle event through the county. Unlike most ironman events, the legs will be run discontinuously to provide maximum spectator enjoyment. Rounding out this trium-
virate will be the Hobie Cat Regatta sponsored by the city, Hobie Fleet 416 and Schaefer Beer. Approximately 200 Hobie Cats of all three major classes and their crews will compete off the shores of Cape May for two full days The winners of each class in the Divsion 11 Championships will earn qualifications for the 1983 National Championships.
