hardly novel — is that the end of the world is at hand We arc at the brink of an nihilation, says Deshusses. and we've brought ourselves to that brink by pollution, the arms races, overpopulation, and economic warfare The eight day of creation saw the fullest flowering of humanity; now it is the eight night, and humankind is faced with this choice to continue sliding into the nameless, masochistic gulf that Is about to swallow the world as we know it. or to totally rebuild society from the ground up It is up to us. says Deshusses, to choose either Death or Transfiguration Either the earth is doomed to death or the era of Awareness will begin with the present generation All of the following quotations are by the author. Jerome Deshusses Every man lies to every woman every fime he pretends he desires her alone If polygamy did not involve such a lot of Irou ble, no male in the world could Imagine himself wan ting anything else
