Seniors Set Nomination
STONE HARBOR - The April business meeting of the borough's Seniors was busy. The members heard and saw a colored slide presentation by a member of the Cape May Historical Society on White Cedar and Indians presented by H. Corson. A presentation by Fire fighter Eric Arenberg described a fund raising plan promoting birthdays
and anniversaries in a calendar form which will be made available to all residents. CLUB PRESIDENT Harry Strohmetz appointed a nominating committee to present a slate of candidates for the coming year. The committee includes Ruth Fisher, Jean Westhoff, Jerry Stump. Bill Klotzbucher and- Sarah Brandy. Nominees will be voted on at the May meeting and additional nominees will be accepted from the floor. Winners of the annual Easter Hat Parade were: prettiest, Rita Chard first
and Ethel Shannon, second; most original. Matt Woolery, first, and Ruth Fisher, second; funniest. Jerry Rowland first and Catherine Sckenger second. All winners received Easter plants. Music ,was played by Harry Strohmetz and Ray DeLaurentis A decision was made to hold County Park,picnics in June. July and August on the second Wednesday of each month.
Honor Society Inducts 21 ERMA — Twenty-one Lower Cape May Regional High School students were inducted March 30 into the school's chapter of the National Honor Society, following a banquet spon sored by the Kiawana Club of Cape May The Kiawana. which acts as the women's auxiliary to the men’s local Kiwanas Club, this year donated $500 toward the event attended by Society members and their parents. According to Kiawana member Jane Turkington. who is also secretary of the Regional Sqhool Board, the club hopes to sponsor the banquet annually “We feel this will benefit more students than the single $500 scholarship we've awarded in’previous years to a graduating senior." she sa[id. In addition to funding Regional's banquet.
