Saturday, April 23 * Concert by the Coast Guard Training Center Band under the direction of Bandmaster Bill Carson ’ Welcome by Deputy Mayor Adrian S. Capehart ' Greetings by Robert Mullock, president of the Greater Cape May Chamber of Commerce * Coronation of Tulip Queen, Anne Reagan, by 1982 lulip Queen, Heather O'Neal * Music throughout the afternoon by the Hoffnagle Band and a strolling violin player * Straat-wassen, a demonstration of the old custom of street washing still observed in the Netherlands * Klompendansing, a traditional folk dance performed in wooden shoes by the Joanne Reagan School of Dance costumed in elaborate lace hats. * Art in the Park, a tulip-making project for young people sponsored by the Cape May County Art League. Under the direction of Jude Burkhauser, children will be able to make tulips from stencils, paper cutouts, vegetable prints and tempra paints ‘ Tours of Cape May’s tulip gardens by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts trolley are scheduled at 1, 2, 3 and T p.m. at a cost of $2.00 for adults ' * Walking tours of Cape May s architecture and tulip gardens will be offered al SI.00 per person. Booths will oiler trjdilionjl Dutch hoi dogs and sauerkraut as well as apple cider, popcorn and orange drink. Dutch items will also he on sale, from Delft pottery and wooden shoes to potted tulips and bedding plants lor the garden. Dutch windmill cookies, balloons with a tulip motif and /oo animals with tulips will he sold by vendors. Restroom facilities will be available > near the Bandstand.
