Festival Has Plenty Of Music Music will be provided by the Coast Guard Training Center Band, the lloffnagle Band, and a Dutch accordion player for the Second Annual Tulip Festival April 23 and 24, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cape May The focus of the Festival will be the Rotary Bandstand surrounded by tulip beds planted by the City of Cape May in honor if the city’s namesake. Captain Cornelius Jacobsen Mey, the Dutch explorer who gave his name to the area The bandstand will lx? the stage for the musicans throughout the afternoon on both days of the Tulip Festival The festival will begin at noon on Saturday. April 23, with a concert by the Coast Guard Training Center Band under the direction of Musician First Class Bill Carson, bandmaster. The band, composed of recruits 'in the Coast Guard, will perform for about half an hour On both Saturday and Sunday. April 23 and 24, the lloffnagle Banpl will provide music for the Festival The band win perform for a concert every hour during the afternoons, 'and the dancers from Joanne Keagan s Studios will per form Klompendansmg and street washing in between the band performances The lloffnagle Band is made up of father Bob. sons Ross and Scott, who are twins, and Charles Ross plays the organ. Scott is the banjo plucker. the Charles plays the trumpet, while Boh is the sax man Everyone takes turns on the drums The band has played at Cold Spring Village, where they feature patriotic songs on the Fourth of July, and for senior citizen tour groups to the Wildwood area, which is their home Thev also play in Cape May for the residents of Vic torian Towers and they will be featured on the Cape May County Cancer telethon this coming Satur day. April lf> The band performs musical pieces known as "oldies but goodies" They will play "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" and "When You Wore a Tulip" Also providing a festive touch to the Tulip Festival will be Peter Oslerwyk of Kingoes. a native of the Netherlands, who will stroll through the park on Sunday. April 24. playing Dutch folk songs on his accordion Me will also sing in Dutch songs of his native land
