AVALON — Dedication of the new Maris Stella Church building on Dune Dr will take place 2:30 p.m Sunday. May 15. with Bishop George If Guilfoyle of Camden officiating The new building, which has been in use since Good Friday, is of contertiporary design, with strong accent on seashore decor. It seats 1,300 £ THE NEW edifice replaces the first parish church, which was donated by Frederic Mitchell and built in 1927 to seat 425

The old building will be retained to serve the parish and the community. Exact uses to which it will be put will be determined over the next year. Notable features of the new church include the figure of Christ over the main altar in bronze, designed and fabricated by Rev Leonard Carrieri, Our l,ady of Sorrows Church. Linwood. THE STAINED glass window’, of unique design, were designed by Thomas Johnston of Villas

Pastor of Maris Stella is Aux. Bishop James L. Schad. Associate Pastor is Rev. John G. Loveland. Local officials, other bishops, and several monsignori will take part in the cornerstone laying and
