Marlin Tourney In July CAPE MAY - The 27th annual Cane May County Marlin Tournament has been scheduled for July 15 and 16. according to Anthony Faraco, of Cheltenham, 'Pa., tournament chairman. This offshore fishing event, one of the oldest of its kind on the East Coast, has been widely accepted as a sportsman’s sportfishing tournament which has featured the tagging and releasing of marlin as an integral part of the scoring for award winning points. FOLLOWING A recent meeting of the Tournament Committee in Philadelphia Faraco announced that while the tournament was still primarily directed at white marlin, prizes would also be awarded for blue marlin, tuna, wahoo and dolphin Tuna entries will be restricted to fish weighing over 25 lbs., F araco said. \ Anglers will compete fer trophies and other prizes ip team competition as wrff af for boat awards. Tournament • winners will be determined by points based on the total number of white marlin released or caught. WHITE MARLIN which are brought to dockside for mounting as trophies will be judged on the basis of one point per pound, while released fish will earn 75 points. A registration dinner will be held at the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor Thursday, July 14 Fishing dates are Friday, July 15. and Saturday.
