Council Honors 3 Homemakers

FREEHOLD - Three home health aides from the Jersey Cape visiting Homemakers were honored at the ivnnual meeting of the Home Care Council of New Jersey, last week, in Freehold at the Sheraton Gardens Lilia Yust. who has been an aide for 20 years, along with Emily Evans and Helen Hidell, who have been aides for 10 years, received certificates and gifts for their faithful service. Mrs Joanne Kay, president of the board of directors. Mrs Ann Gerken, noard member. M Ann Magee, executive director.

and Veronica Johnson, field supervisor accompanied the aides to Freehold JERSEY CARE Visiting Homemakers was mcor porated in May. 1059 and has been providing care to the chronically and acutely ill people of Cape May County in their homes for 24 years It is non-profit and one of its objectives is to provide competent, cer tified aides at the most reasonable cost possible The agency is located in Rio Grande at the Social Service Building, and pro vided 599 clients with 48,664 hours of service Inst year

Victorian Dancefest Tops List of Events

Doc’s Patients To Rally, Fight

COURT HOUSE - Supporters of ^r. Suketu Nanavati have scheduled a rally for 2 pm. May 14. at Nanavati's clinic on Den nisville Road to protest his dismissal from the staff of Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, effective May 20 The supporters also plan to circulate petitions during the rally, calling for-in-vestigations by the state at torney general and state medical officials, regarding patient's, complaints of civil rights violations, cardiac malpractice and other allegations logdged against Burdette Tomlin's staff The petition drive is headed by former Middle Township Mayor Samuel S DeVico.

One of the petition allega tions contends that the hospital s board of gover nors and its medical staff violated tho constitutional rights of fJanavati's 1.300 heart patier/U by denying them his staff privileges • The physician has been the only certified car diologist on the staff His dismissal revokes his privilege to admit any of those patients for care in Burdette Tomlin, even in emergencies, the supporters argue The Patients' Committee Supporting Dr Suketu Nanavati. which has called the rally, has characterized the board of governors' action as # ‘‘selfish, hypocritical, irresponsible and life-threatening '
