WILDWOOD academic circles’ loss was Cape May's restaurant’s gain when Warren Watson decided to devote his full time to operation of Wat-
son’s Merion Inn. The Inn, built in 1855, was originally financed by the posh Merion Cricket Club. On the inside, one can lean elbows oh an exquisite sdlid cherry bar, signed and dated in 1904, featuring fluted oak columns and beveled mirrors. Jus! one of the attractive features are Watson’s “sophisticated spuds." Watson’s transport the lowly stuffed potato to new heights. The potato is throughly whipped with cream, topped with cheese and returned to its skin shell for a second crispy baki^.
