County Horsewomen Bring Home Honors

COLD SPRING - Seven young Cape May County women captured honors at Hidden Valley Ranch, riding in the South Jersey Quarter Horse Circuit. Riding Rugged Punch and Prospectin Chic, Wendy laea Pharo of Cape May won in seven horsemanship competitions, including na tional honors from the American Quarter Horse Association as all-around youth champion Kelli Lynrte Weeks of Cape May. riding Good Ridge, took honors in three events and Stacy Sheehan, also of Cape May . captured titles in two contests aboard Flirt's Camelot

Doris Sturm of Court House, riding Kitten Dee Jet; Brenda Simonsen of Cape May, on Alidon; Virginia Bachman, also riding Alidon; and Francine Kajander of Wildwood Crest, aboard Lucky Bart Seven, each won honors in one horsemanship event.

Rio Grande, Shire Win CAPE MAY - In the in augural toed volleyball match of May 4, powerful Rio Grande Building Supply went up against Marine National Bank, with Rio Grande taking two of the three games. The opening game was a shutout as Rio Grande completely dominated the game behind the fine play of Margie Franco as her team downed Marine 15-0. THE SECOND pairing pitted two evenly matched teams as the Shire went ud against Shelter Skeltti with the Shire taking two ft the three games. The first game wrfs close affair with the Shire nipping Shelter Skelter 15-13. Rick Swain of the Shin? led his team with , some nice spikes.
