STEP: More Mature

A Pennsylvania consulting firm says it can fill 50 jobs in Cape May County. But the county’s Private Industry Council says it doesn't think it can get involved. The problem is the definition of "entry level.* ’ Many of the positions for which Alan S. Rosenberg Associates Inc. would like federally-paid PIC training require persons with college training and experience. "WE HAVE LIMITED funds," said Gregory Willis, PIC chairman, "and we want to use it for the most number of people, entry-level people with the greatest need." "Many are entry level for our clients," said Rosenberg in a telephone interview with the Herald and Lantern, "but that's News-^ DigeSt Topfstories Ocean City Echo? Video Victory STONE HARBOR - Pac Man, Space Invaders and a host of other video aliens will be coming to this resort soon despite the arched brows of opposing residents With pressure from those residents, Borough Council last November reversed a Zoning Board decision to grant a use variance for an arcade on 96th Street. Pulling the Plug GREEN CREEK — Tired of seeing raw sewage overflowing from septic tanks in the Delsea Woods Mobile Home Park, Middle Township officials told its owners to clean up or pay up. The towaship commissioners gave park management until mid-August to correct the nine-year-old headache or pay $288 a day for health code violatioas. Trailer park officials said they plan to install a pumping station to solve the problem before the deadline.

Changing Trolleys CAPE MAY — "It never seems you can find a trolley when you need one." Does that sound like the echo of a complaining commuter from the ‘30s? Well Cape May officials have a similar gripe. Only one bid was received for the city’s three-year trolley contract and that was judged unacceptable because the outfit that submitted it held the trolley franchise last year and wants a $20,000 city subsidy to keep the "Victorian” trolley running. The city is now looking for a better deal.
