Screening Extended

The deadline for obtaining free test kits to test for hidden blood in the stool has been extended to June 10 Kits may be requested from the Cape May County Unit of the American Cancer Society by calling,

886-1154. The simple, painless test is conducted in the privacy of one's home and the kit is then sent in a prcaddressed envelope to a laboratory for testing.

Greening of The Islands

STONE HARBOR - The start of the tree planting on the Second Avenue Flower Beds kicked-off the Endowment Fund of the Garden Gub. Under the direction of Garry and Ronnie Barber two trees and six shrubs were planted on the six main islands, three north of 96th st. and three south of 96th st. In addition 15 other islands had trees planted on them. Appropriate flowers and shrubs were to be planted on these islands by other civic groups starting May 12. The trees were Autumn Olives, which will bud both Spring ahd Fall The Endowment Fund

received a check from the Republican Gub to aid in its efforts to beautify the town. Any and all residents are urged to subscribe to this fund and may do so by contacting any member of the club, Mrs. Ramona Wilson, president, or Mrs. Dede Harris, chairlady of the planting committee.

Get Degrees Two Cape May County residents received degrees from Fairleigh Dickinson University at its 40th annual commencement. Scott Timothy Lawn of Ocean Gty was award the degree of Bachelor of Science. Margaret PurcellAnsley was awarded the degree of Master of Arts.
