CAPE MAY - The Coast Guard has recently reorganized its aids to navigation operations in southern New Jersey. Where responsibility for different areas and types of aids had been divided among several units, all aids to navigation operations have been consolidated under the command of the Coast Guard
Many Aid Planting Program
STONE HARBOR - Mrs. Romona Wilson, president of the Garden Club, stated that with the help of members of many of the borough's civic organizations some 14,000 plants were used on the six main flower beds north and south of 96th St. over the past weekend. Participating in the plan ting program, paid for by the Club's Endowment Fund, were the Realty Owners, the Rescue Squad, the Volunteer Fire Co., the Americap legion. Men of St Mary's Church, some school children, the Women's Civic Club and the Garden Club IN ADDITION to the six main flower beds a total of 24 horseshoe beds were planted on both ends of 12 other Islands. More plants will be used on the flower beds at the Bridge entrance to town, at the Chamber of Commerce Building Borough Hall; the 80th St., Well and the 96th St.. Ten nis Courts. With the assistance and expertise of Barber’s Nursery some 27 trees and 36 bushes were also planted in the center of some of the Islands. Additional trees and bushes are on order to be planted on the islands beyond the center of town Mrs. Wilson, who supervised all the planting of the past few days along with chairlady of the Flbwer Bed Committee, Dede Harris, expressed their thanks for all the help received in the enterprise.

Navigation Aids Under Hornbeam
Cutter Hornbeam. The Hornbeam is a 180-foot sea going buoy tender based in Cape May. It services the large buoys from Shark River Inlet, to Ocean City, MD, including Delaware Bay. A shore-
based sub-unit of the Horn beam, known as Aids to Navigation Team (or ANT) Hornbeam, handles the area's lighthouses and smaller buoys. The ANT, specifically, is responsible for aids to
navigation in the Intracoastal Waterway from Shark River Inlet to Cape May, the various ocean inlets, Rehobeth Bay, and the smaller aids in Delaware Bay. The public is requested to
report any discrepancies with Coast Guard aids to navigation to the nearest Coast Guard station. Interested parties may also contact Lieutenant Commander A. J. Hindlc, Commanding Officer of the
Hornbeam at (609) 884-5652, or Master Chief Boatswains Mate W.E. ADAMS, supervisor of the ANT. at 884-8451 to discuss any-Vroblems with Coast Guard navigational aids in the area.
