Last week we went to one of a series of spring dinner parties that Jessie and Councilman, musician, and Senior of the Year Harry Strohmetr give every.year. This was a particularly swelegant one. Jessie made a broccoli casserole that was absolutely dreamy. We asked her for the recipe and Harry kindly typed it out and gave it to us at the Seniors Fun Night last night. There was lots of singing and dancing too, since both Harry and Jessie play the organ. Incidentally, courtly Vince Kgan is the perfect guest (he owns the Em jay Shop). He waits on all the unescorted ladies and sees that they are never without a drink or a compliment. Now we think we’ve seen everything — Marguerite and Rill Klotzbutcher. 272 95th St., have long had two beautiful Persian cats, then along came Gray Boy, a stray, who decided to join the family. All of a sudden two gorgeous mallard ducks, Romeo and Juliet, made their home in the Klotzbucher's front yard. Marguerite started feeding them cereal and giving them water so natch they love her and she can even chuck them under their bills. The cats sit on the porch disdainfully watching them The whole scenario has suddenly changed. Romeo and Juliet have started taking their meals at different times.

Marguerite says Juliet has laid eggs somewhere and Romeo goes and keeps them warm while Juliet dines — that’s what we call a commitment. Dotty Evoy, Be Shissler and Betty White teamed up to give a smashing cocktail party at the Whitebrier May 15. Despite the heavy rain and wind storm everybody showed up. Joe Rrophy did his usual excellent job of catering to everyone’s taste . and we floundered ourselves on clams casino, stuffed mushrooms, etc. We met new people too. Ever since we first saw Dottie Petruzzo modeling in a Civic Club fashion show we’ve been raving about her looks. She and her husband Robert T. Petruzzo were guests that we met for the first time. He is pharmaceutical director at Burdette Tomlin. Our spouse sometimes accuses this scribe of being too enthusiastic but this time he said "Boy, you were right on target about her, she is beautiful!" The party was in the small private room and we had a chance to meet and talk to everyone. After so much fun it seemed drab to come home, so we stayed and had dinner in the main dining room We can't resist the way the chef cooks scallops. WENT TO St. Mary’s Episcopal Church on Sunday, May 15, and for the first time had the pleasure

of hearing tbe Rev Paul Lingle, a retired pastor who now makes his home in Toms River. We sa< with Anne Allen of Harbor Towers during the coffee hour and Father Lingle and his wife Betty joined us The rector’s former church was in Huntington Valley and Father Lingle told us he loves filling in for Father Wesley Martin, who . is vacationing in the south, because so many members of St. Mary’s were his former parishioners. He also looks forward to seeing Anne, whom he calls "Pinky" because she was his sister’s* roommate at school. Father Lingle has a resonant voice and delivers an excellent sermon. Wc hope the Almighty's eye was on this sparrow that day, because we went to church twice. In the afternoon we went with Gracine McMcnamy to the most impressive dedication of the new Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, in Avalon. It was spectacular to the point of being overwhelming. Preceding the Blessing of the Cornerstone there was a long parade of dignitaries followed by the Knights of Columbus in their handsome black

"You do have several college graduates on your rolls,” said ARierLF Tromhino Jr of Cape May who is associated with Rosenberg "One," said Mansell, "a mechanical engineer ” "Federal regulations have no curb on educational background." said Trombino. "There are training methods we can bring that you can use. We can bring upgrade training. We were told the county did not want to do upgrade trading, that it had never done it before ” "What do you charge?" asked PIC staff mbmber Patricia Robertson "PIC is already aware." said Trombino. "I’m not," said Robertson "WE ARE PAH) by our clients,” said Trombino "But there is no government check, nothing from PIC or any federal agency." "The service you provide is to hook up an employer with an employe." said George Plewa of PIC. "And provide training." said Tromhino "You are looking for our resources." said Plewa "Our client is," said Tromhino "Are there any federal regulations that prohibit this?" asked Plewa "None,” said Trombino "WE'RE INTERESTED in entry level positions, not executive positions," said Willis, "ones that pay $12,000 as opposed to $28,000 " "Some of yours require a degree and five years experience," said Mansell. "These people are unemployed loo." said Tromhino . He told the Herald and Umtern that he could not name the firms- with openings because of "the confidentiality of clients But the positioas arc there," he said He also denied all were high paying posi lions "There's one for building maintenance," he said, "another for a hotel clerk." PIC DIRECTOR Non Mavromates told the Herald 'and Lantern that the Rosenberg firm had submitted a dozen ap^ plications of which "two or three were entry-level and the others required a college graduate with five years experience and paid $25,000 a year. "One was for a real estate agent and paid commission," she added Rosenberg said he had "no complaints’ with PIC and called Mavromates "very helpful " "An air quality technician, for exam pie,” he said, "means a person who studies air samples That’s entry level at the com pany, but it requires a substantial amount of prior education and experience, so much so that it’s questionable whetherit was fundable under PIC guidelines "We’ll be making several proposalsIhlt will include jobs that in our opinion Ifre worthy of consideration by PIC," said Rosenberg * * % "But it won't be 50. It will be a smupr amount " ^
