Since we are the last of the great family resorts, school closings determine our daily peak season business. Therefore, there’s good news. Due to the lack of winter snow, all schools in the Delaware Valley have early summer vacations scheduled. As an example, Millville’s last day of classes will be June 10 instead of the scheduled June 17 closing date. The earlier dismissals don’t just benefit resorts. They let seniors find jobs sooner and keeps students and teachers from sitting in class during hot weather With high school

The famed singer has returned the favor by including the song, “On The Way To Cape May’’ on his newest album. Great local singer Rick Morano also has n new recording of “On The Way To Cape May,” the song that pays tribute to all of our county’s island resorts. A former Alaskan and Montana entreprenaur, John Girton will help make Wildwood “Broadway by the Sea" this season. He is utilizing a former 55-fool Navy craft, based at
Kurtz’s dock, for his “Super Signs" franchise. The boat contains 420 electric bulbs in a 50-foot sign that presents to Broadwalk and beach strollers a ‘Times-Square’-llke sign giving temperatures, times
and ads. i
Also expected back is Fort Lauderdale “Button’* entertainment director Eugene Reidy and his Parasail signs wherein an airborne passenger bobs like a puppet beneath a brightly striped parachute towed along the beach by a
motorboat.
Over 1,400 added conventioneers took part in the Tall Cedars of North America conclave here than in Virginia Beach. They’ll be back in 1984 and annually therefater if a few wrinkles can be ironed ou( The splendid parade and financial contributions were all welcomed by island businessmen.
