For the film The Forbidden City, the Peoples' Republic of China invited NBC to record the preceless treasures of Peking’s Forbidden City, the home of Chinese emperors for nearly 500 years. The film achieves a happy blend of past and present as the camera shares a visit with a Peking family. THESE FILMS on China provide another insight to Chinese' art which is featured at the League during the month of June. Throughout June Frances Johnson's impressionistic watercolors of Asian scenes will be on exhibit in the League gallery. The week following Uie film presentation, at 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 22. Robert Bruce, of Cape May, world traveler, lecturer, and university instructor who had spent some years with the British Foreign Office, will speak on "The Theory and Prac ticc of Chinese Painting."
