Zoning Board Changes Made
STONE HARBOR - Warren Buckingham has been appointed second alternate to the borough's zoning board by Mayor Arden Hand, Buckingham will fill the positidh now held by Joan Hutchinson, who moves up to first
alternate. Both changes were due to the resignation of Kenneth Hawk from the board as he was recently named to be a member of Council and is therefore ineligible to hold a position on the zoning board.
Trash Times Change
AVALON — Summer garbage and trash collec tion regulations are now in effect. There will be no fur ther bulk trash pickup until Sept. 12. It is the responsibility of the residents to dispose of such large bulky items, brush and clipping^, according to Andrew Bednarek, borough administrator Contractors and landscapers are responsible for disposing of their trash items. They may not be dumped at the Public Works Yard. The dumpsters located at this site are for domestic household trash only, notes Bednarek. From June through Sept 14, trash collection will be Monday and Thursday on the east side of Dune Drive; Tuesday and Friday on the west side of Dune Drive to Ocean, Wednesday and Saturday to the west side of Ocean Drive (Third Avenue) in the main business area. All garbage and trash must be in covered containers with tight lids and placed at the curb the night before, due to the 7 a m. start of collection. Plastic bags only are not allowed, he added. There are dumpsters at the maintenance yard that may be used by the public to avoid unsightly piles of trash at curbside. The Public Works Yard is not a dump sight for contractor's material, bulk trash and shrubbery The police department has been notified of these regulations and will be warning those who do not conform, Bednarek stressed.
