Needlework Exhibit Set
MIDDLE TWP, - An exhibit of needlework including quilts, embroidery, rugs and wall hangings by members of the Wetlands needlers will be open to the public June 25 and 26 at the Wetlands Institute on Stone Harbor Blvd. The Wetlands Needlers are volunteer friends of the Institute who create beautiful handmade quilts for the benefit of the children’s program and museum. Band Concert Ticket Offer CAPE MAY - Arthur Doran, band concerts coordinator, has announced that the supply of tickets for the U.S. Army Field Band Ambassadors of Jazz and the Air Force Band of the East in Convention Hall, respectively, have been exhausted. Doran said that he is releasing tickets for the Coast Guard Band from Connecticut, performing in Gardner Hall, in the Christian Admiral. They are now available by writing Coast Guard Band Concert, Box 19, Cape May, 08204. Chinese Painting Lecture Topic CAPE MAY - Robert Bruce of Cape May, world traveler, will speak on Chinese painting 8 p m Wednesday, June 22, at the County Art League, 1050 Washington St. Bruce was taken as his topic “The Principles and Fh-actice of Chinese Painting," and will attempt to explain the philosophy which lies behind the painting That philosophy, which is of two kinds, Confucianism and Taoism, has developed the Chinese attitude toward nature, where in Chinese paintings man is seen as a small figure in a landscape, representing in insignificance of man in the whole panoply of nature.
