The Kotedale Deer Club of Waterford will sponsor a bus trip to Veterans Stadium. Philadelphia, on Monday. June 20. to see the Philadelphia Stars face off against the Oakland Invaders. The bus trip will leave from Jamesway Parking Plaia in Cape May Court House at 4:45 p.m. and stop at the Rosedale Deer Club In Waterford for dinner on the way to the stadium. The Cape May County Chambers' Spring Golf Tournament, held at the Stone Harbor Golf Club, began with 108 golfers teeing off on a "shot gun” start under clearing skies

last week.

Top honors went to Jesse Deane for his "lownet" of 71. Deane of Wildwood Crest is a student at Atlantic Community College. Jim John of North Cape May took second place low net with a 72 while Merrill Thomas of West Cape May took third place with a 73. Low gross winners were: first place. Mike Fusco II of Ocean City with a 75; second place. Bill Forbes of Wilmington. Del. with a 76; and third place went to Ed Harmey of Ocean City with a 76 after a "sudden death”

WINNERS of trophies for "closest to the pin” were: on ninth hole, Ken Marshall; 10th hole, Richa r d Booth; and 13th hole. Edward Deane. Trophies for "Longest Drive” were awarded to Ed Watts on the third tee, Ralph Schoonejongen on the 14th tee and Barry Harmon on the 18th tee. Trophies were presented at the awards luncheon which followed the round of golf. Ted Roman, president, Cape May County Chamber of Commerce, presented the trophies. He was assisted by Bill Kiser, cliamber director, and Bob Patterson, executive director of the chamber. A fall tournament is being planned.
