Avalon Summer Schedule
AVALON, — Avalon Recreation Director Dave Haberly has announced that the summer schedule is in effect! Arts and crafts at the Community Hall 10 a m.-noon Monday through Friday. -Slimnastics 9-10 a.m. Monday — Friday, also at Community Hall. There are supervised softball games for anyone interested There is Biddy and Junior Baseball open to all boys*and girls 11 am.noon Monday — Friday. SHUFFLEBOARD at the 8th Street Recreation Area; Open Gym 7-9 p.m. Friday and roller skating 7 p.m.-9:30 thursday. Free swimming lessons for children from Beginner through intermediate are available upon registration. Instruction is given by a certified Water Safety Instructor. Equipment is available at Community Hall and the 8th Street Tennis Courts for horseshoes, and volleyball. THE 1983 Tennis Program appears in the New Avalon Chamber of Commerce Dirctory. Thirteen hard surfaced courts and two practice backboards are located at 8th Street and Dune Drive. They are supervised and court assignments and payment will be arranged through the attendant. The courts are open daily 7:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m Free tennis is available daily noon to 3 p.m. Season permits and hourly rates are effective June 18 through Sept 5* Information on other activities may be requested at Community Hall
Working Papers
WILDWOOD - Working papers will be issued at the High School Guidance Office to residents of the city. 9-11 a.m.. Sept 2. On the first visit to the of fice the student will receive a promise of employment form and a physician's certificate (These forms arc given out any time during the day) These two forms, when completed, are returned with a copy of the student's birth or bap tismal certificate Students who have filed for working papers previously at the high school do not need to show proof of age again Students who reside in Wildwood Crest must secure working papers through the Wildwood Crest Board of Education, Crest Memorial School, St Louis and Pacific Avcs Students who reside in North Wildwood must secure working papers through the North Wildwood Board of Education, Margaret Mpce school, 13th and Atlantic AVes Working papers are typed at the appropriate school according to where the student lives, not jwhero the student is working

rese, Ocean City,' the $250 Sandy Steinberger Award; Gerald Warmkessel, Wildwood, a $300 scholarship of the New Jersey Association of Public Accountants; Sue Godin, Ocean City, the $500 John and Ruth Lee Award; Jef frey Cotton, Strathmere, $400 from the Frank J. Siracusa family; Eleanor Abbott, Wildwood, $150 from the Sandpiper Service Club.
Middle Grad Gets Degree
RIO GRANDE - Michael J. Bennett, sen of Mrs. Patricia Bennett of Davis Avenue, has Iteen graduated from West Virginia University wi h a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Resource Management.
The 1979 graduate of Middle Township High School was a member of the university Crew Club, the Rugby Club, served as vice president of the Ski Club and was on the dean's list during the first semester 1980-'81.
