■‘TWINS"

. At least we think there are two — there may be more or less. Each year at this time we wait anxiously in hope that the osprey which nest on the Institute salt marsh will successfully hatch young We knew something was up when around Memorial Day the behavior of the incubating female began to change. She appeared restless. The next few days saw her standing frequently in the nest and we could see her poking food into the center of the next Although the young were too small to see we guessed from the amount of activity that there must be more than one. Just this week we saw two little heads wobbling above the rim of the nest. WeTl wait and watch now in hope that they will survive the crucial nesting stage So far mother and young are doing well. Viewing hours at the nursery window in the Institute’s hall are Tuesday ■ Saturday from 9 - 5 Quiet! Babies sleeping Text: Anne Galli Illustration: Lisa Beard
