Be sure to mark your calendar for this one: it’s the Antique Auction and Lawn Party 4-8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 16, sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts. It'll also be held right on the grounds of the Physick Estate, come rain or come shine. Food will be barbequed chicken with all the trimmings, grilled right there, and com on the cob too. You’ll be able to enjoy your dinner under the 40 ft. x 40 ft. tent. There’ll be an open bar, too! For added fun there’ll be croquet and hoop rolling, also an Antique Quilt Raffle. And, 6 to 8:30, the antique auction, all done by a professional auctioneer. Remember, if you’ve any antiques you'd like to donate, items you would like to sell, it can all be arranged. Donations will receive tax deductible receipts and anyone wishing to sell items can do so giving IS percent to MAC. Professional auctioneer Steve Byrne will handle it. All items for acceptance and appraisal are to be submitted before July 11. For more details, call the MAC office at 884-5404, or better still, stop by the office in the Hill House on the Physick Estate and director Mike Zuckerman will tell you more.
DON’T FORGET, it’s Saturday. July 2 starling at 9 a m. the Home-Baked Goodies Sale sponsored by the Cape May Rescue Squad Auxiliary right on the Victorian Plaza grounds (across from Victorian Towers), at the entrance to the Acme on the Washington St. side. I don’t have to tell you what these ladies can bake; they're superb, so make it a point to stop by. There'll be some food items too. but come early Congratulations to Marge Markley of Village Green, upon becoming a Roman Catholic and joining Our Lady Star of the Sea Church.
