Grants Go To 10 Teachers COURT HOUSE - Ten county school teachers were awarded grants from the Cape Educational Fund at a special reception recently at the Career Center. Proposals totaling more than $4,700 were selected by the fund because of their potential for providing quality educational experiences for students in an exciting and motivational manner. The Cape Educational Fund is a nonprofit, community organization established for the purpose of securing funds and allocating small grant awards for unqiue projects that make the difference between adequate and inspiring educational oppor tunities for children. This is the second year of the Fund's grant awards program. THIS YEAR'S grant recipients include: William Hamilton, an Ocean City High School teacher. $500 to publish a county-wide literary and art magazine: Kathleen Filipo, a Special Services School District teacher, $425, to implement a handicaps and selfawareness program. Joanne Bonner, a third grade teacher in Lower Township, $347 to implement a salt-water sea lab project Gina Scancella. a teacher at the Special Services School District. $500 to implement an outdoor experimental education program, Kay Della Bar ca, an Ocean City High School teacher. $489 47 to implement a microcomputer accounting program in grades 11 & 12 Others winners include: Deborah Johnson, a Middle Township fifth grade teacher. $500 to implement a program entitled "In Search of the Salt Marsh". Karen Seddon. a 7th and 8th grade teacher at the Woodbine Elementary School. $443.93 to implement a project entitled "A Classic A Day Keeps Mediocrity Away " Sr. Donna Jean Bodnar, a teacher from St. Ann's Regional School. $500 to im plement a discovery and self-awareness project: Kathleen Bogle, a Cape May City school teacher. $500 to implement a dance/movement pro gram; and Jacque Ross, a fourth grade Middle Township teacher. $500 to expand an existing critical thinking program using microcomputers.
