NEWARK - Through the New Jersey Mortgage Finance Agency's Home Improvement I^oan Program (HILP) over $7.5 million in home improvement and energy loans is available, it was announced recently by Gov. Thomas H. Kean. The loans will be available to homeowners of one to four-unit residences in the state, with maximum income limits of $25,000 for a one-member household to $30,000 for a four or more member household Borrowers can obtain up to $15,000 to make repairs, energy improvements or other renovations to increase the livability of their homes Eligible im provements include plumbing and electrical repairs, room additions, and the installation of furnaces and fire escapes Loans will be granted only for new work.

Families of handicapped persons who need renovations to improve the accessability of their homes may earn as much as $45.00(1 and still qualify for HILP financing.
