Shark Fishing Tips: 1. 'Avoid Eye Contact

Hang up a shark after a fishing trip and everyone wants to touch it or photograph it. As for the former,* leave "dead” sharks alone Something

A good rule for shark fishermen and shark photographers is to stay away from either end of a shark at all times Let the experienced captains and mates handle them And. a good rule for shark fishermen is never to be looking at a shark eye to eye when doing battle with one either at the end of a line 6r on the rope of a flying gaff Which means that you should always gaff a snark near the tail rather than at the head end Also, the rope from the flying gaff should pass through the hawser hole and around

a cleat. It may look and feel macho to have a big shark at the other end of a rope, but it is dangerous One of the reasons it is dangerous to have a shark looking you eye to eye at the end of a rope is that with one flick of the tail a shark (or any other big fish for that matter) can literally leap out of the water at and onto the angler A FLYING GAFF (one which has a removable head which separates from the handle) is strongly suggested for big fish which require a gaff to bring them aboard. The handle of a gaff becomes a lethal wnapon if it gets out of the hands of the gaffer while the shark or big fish is thrashing around Shark fishing is "in" right now Not only is shark fishing in as a sport, it is the season for good shark fishing Shark anglers are tagging and releasing sharks in cooperation with the U S Department of Commerce. To bleed a shark, cut off the caudal fin, let the blood pump out and make sure the shark is dead before "operating" to gut it. It also helps to prd-soak shark meat in a strong lemon juice solution before cooking or freezing.
