The Private Industry Council (PIC) has several programs that are still available for the summer months, according to Mavromates. "On the Job Training has become an extremely populai program with our county businesses. At pre sent, approximately 50 businesses are taking part." Mavormates said. "Our program lets the business person be subsidized for 50 percent of an On the Job Trainee for a prescribed length of time. The program helps the work force while giving an incentive to the employer." At present PIC has the construction trades, such as builders, plumbers, electricians, refrigeration men. landscapers and lumberyards signed up for O.J.T programs Among other businesses taking part in the program are furniture stores, specialty shops, realtors, lawyers, doctors, restaurants, manufacturing companies, radiq stations and a cable TV company.
