COLD SPRING - A col orful, hour-long pageant of the American Revolution will be presented in three performances by the Second Pennsylvania Regiment of the Continental Line Sat., at Historic Cold Spring Village. The outdoor shows will be rescheduled the following day in case of rain. Also on Saturday, Joyce Reed will present her children’s shows in the • Gazebo, and the Village by Candlelight will extend evening hours to 9:30 p.m. Sunday there will be Square Dancing on the Village Green. Audience participation is invited. FIFTY MEN AND women representing soldiers and camp followers in authentic garb will perform the Revolutionary War pageants at 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. The lively shows will demonstrate 18th Century warfare and, the colonial firepower of the famed Brown Bess flintlock muskets. The equipment and uniforms are exact reproductions of originals in museums and private collections. The rugged backwoods riflemen, American militia who were poorly equipped, well trained Continentals, Hessians, British Redcoats, French, Loyalists and camp followers will be portrayed. Musicians of the period will also be represented. "We are the largest regiment of its kind in this country,” says Paul Loane of the Second Pennsylvania Regiment, which was founded in 1966. Its membership includes volunteers from six eastern states. The group is especially proud that it has

been selected by the government- of France to travel to Versailles, where members will re-enact their pageant for the French. This will be their first performance in a European country.
