Out For Blood (Mercury) is a solid starting point, yet it's highly doubtful Lita Ford will have, with this record the same success Jett has had. Until Ford comes up with an infectious single, her music will sell only through constant touring. She's a hot guitarist who can hold her own as a lead singer but uneven material plagues this debut. Give Lita Ford a chance and there’s no reason she can't find a home on the heavy metal circuit. Eddie Jobson has been playing >violin/keyboards for such bands as Roxy Music, Curved Air, Jethro Tull, and Frank Zappa and now he's formed his own band, Zinc. Its debut album on Capitol is a combination of modern pop with progressive rock. The big surprise is much of this actually works. Jobson is an exceptional musician, who Shows signs of developing into a first-rate Frontman. At times, this albuhi is a bit sluggish, but overall one can sense Zinc will have

album XL-1 (Arista) is more electronic, new wave that’s aimed for the rock discos. Most of these songs are rather catchy and Shelley is a fine vocalist. However, unless one wants to dance the mechanical rhythms quickly grow tiresome. Fun for parties, but for listening at home it's useless.
