CAPE MAY - The 51st Annual Coronation of Queen Maysea and the 51st Annual Baby Parade sponsored by the city were enjoyed by thousands of residents and tourists. Dawn Marie Mason, 6, of North Cape "May, was crowned Queen Maysea 1983 by Mayor Arthur Blomkvest at Convention Hall Aug. 3. During the coronation, which featured Annie Reagan, 1983 Tulip Festival Queen, as mistress of ceremonies, the Al Raymond Orchestra played and the Joanne Reagan Mini Company Dancers performed. Following the coronation the chairman, Mrs. Mitzi Blomkvest, was presented a bouquet of flowers in appreciation for her dedication to the Queen Maysea program. On Friday, Aug. 5, the 51sl Annual Baby Parade marched down Beach Drive led by Grand Marshal Lt. Carlyle Dennis and Larry Inderwies, followed by the panel of judges in the Cape May Horse 'n Carriage operated by Beverly Carr. The judges were John Veldhoven. Mrs. Debbie Dodson and Mrs. Gladys Mendo. THE 1983 BABY Parade included 110 entries in the seven categories, the Doctors of Rhythm Dixieland Band, the Oaklyn Marching Mavericks, 1982 Queen Maysea Lauren Oreo, 1983 Queen Maysea Dawn Marie Mason, Miss Cape May County, the Cape May Fire Department, the Cape May Rescue Squad and the Mid-Atlantic Center Trolley.
