Parade Of Tots At Home

OCEAN VIEW - The second annual baby parade was held recently at the Lutheran Home, with children of employees and their neighbors taking! part. Numbers for the participants were in the form of fish cut from construction paper by residents during a handwork period. A feature of the parade was a laundry cart transformed into a float. Shawn Rose and his older brother John, of Petersburg, both working for a scouting merit badge in handicapped awareness, deviced the idea of making the cart into an animal, with balloons as eyes, ears, nose, mouth, legs, and tail. The paraders each received a pinwheel, plus punch, cookies and ice cream. AT THE END of the parade, most of the children stood in the cast and were pushed through the parade area by junior volunteers; then the float was taken through the halls to the rooms of residents unable to go to the activities room for the parade. Later, entertainment was provided by members of Show Stoppers, traveling dance troupe of Dancers Two. Inc., under the direction of Nancy Gibson and Suzy Burris. Nancy Kennon, activities director at the home, arranged the parade and entertainment. AF Captain In Exercise
