Julie I)'Alessandro. Rosabel Koss and Fran Van Ness performed the exercises and even led an audience-participation act which afforded us plenty of giggles as we strove to, follow their moves while sitting in our chairs Mega talented Marge Otton climaxed the show with two .graceful Polynesian solo dances We had a perfect sum mer lunch — fruit salad with nutbread preceded by a bubbling Hawaiian punch and followed by fruit tarts in five different flavors The business meeting started as the last table was cleared. Outgoing Proxy Dotty (Mrs Gerald) Stump welcomed the guests and. called for officer's reports It was gratifying to learn that this was the most successful year in the club's financial history. Mary Conwrll came forward to remind members to get their tickets in for the Sept 4lh Art Show Tombole by Sept 1 so they would be among those drawn at the show Prizes are fabulous — amethyst pendant, painting (Old Man of the Sea), painting (Meadow Scene), Stained glass hanging. Aynsley vase, pewter cream and sugar set. and painting (Flying Low Geese) We were reminded of the Sea Mart which the club is holding Sept. 3 from 10 til 2 p m If you were planning to have a yard sale this year, plan to hold it at the Sea Mart We were also reminded that Our Saviour Lutheran Church will hold an Ecumenical Service Sunday' Sept. 18, at 11 a m in honor of our 70th Anniversary. Pres Dotty Stump then asked Sallie Ruth MacCorkell to swear in the new officers. Sallie Ruth is club parliamentarian and an eloquent public speaker She delivered a warm speech thanking Dotty on behalf of the members for her past service to the club Dotty is the only person

who has served a^ president for two four year terms An obviously mistyeyed* departing president accepted the handsome plaque commemorating her service and turned the gavel over to Kllir (Mrs Frank) Smith with best wishes After Ellie took her oath of office the other of ficers were sworn in They were 1st VP. Thelma Yeager: 2nd VP. Mary Conwell: Rec Sec . Jane Boss; Corr Sec Alma Squasoni; Trcas. Marguerite Klotzbucher: and Asst Treas , Jane Owings. JOE AND NORMA 0etz. 249 60th St . directed the Stone Harbor Art Show when the fin>t one was held on’, the backstay of the ballfield and continued lo direct it for 20 years when (Page 18 Please)
