Benefit Art Show, Old Autos Slated

CAPE MAY - A Benefit Art Show and Sale will be held outdoors and indoors at Historic Cold Spring Village Saturday. Proceeds will go to the County Art League’s junior program. Also on Saturday, Joyce Reed will present her children’s shows and the Village by Candlelight will extend regular hours to 9:30 p.m. Sunday, the Jersey Cape Antique Car Show will be held on the Village Green and will bring private collections of vintage motor cars to Cape May. Almost all are drivable and have accessories in mint condition. More than 40 cars are expected to show, according to Jim Stapleton of Somers Point, who is president of the Jersey Cape Region Antique Auto Club. Tanned, Untanned Contest

OCEAN CITY - No tan or non-tan wilj be overlooked during Ocean City’s 4th Annual Miscellaneous Sun Tanning Tournament, tomorrow August 25. Categories range from “Best Left Arm Tan" for the driver who never gets to the beach but is able to dangle his or her left arm from a car window to the “Count Dracula” competition fof the palest person. The contest begins 1 p.m. in front of the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terr. The “Sunshine Boys," a banjo band, start things off by strumming the contest's official song. "You Are My Sun Tan. My Only Sun Tan,” • J Other categories art “Best T-Shirt Tan," which includes face, neck and arms only. (Men are asked to bare their torsos to indicate contrast, women will be taken to jail of they do so.) Then there’s the “Best Tanned Back of Neck,’’ “Palest Ring Finger,” “Whitest Knuckles," and “Golden Dome" category for best tanned bald head. Those who wish to register for the tournament should show up with their tans and non-tans between noon and l p.m. in front of, the Music Pier. There is no entry fees. Block Party On Friday

STONE HARBOR - The borough-appointed committee to direct Teen Dances during the summer, under the direction of John Roberson, will hold an outdoor block party with music and dancing at 95th and First Ave., 8-11 p.m. Friday. This one-time final affair is open to all ages. Livte music will be provided by the Rok Harbour band. In addition the band will also play for the Teen dance, the last of the season in the Women’s Civic Clubhouse, Saturday. The usual fee will apply at the teen dance but the Friday night block party dance and music are free and all are welcome to attend.
