Dancers To Give Concert

CAPE MAY - South Street Dance Co. will present an informal concert of modem dance performed by the dancers participating in the Fourth Annual "Dance by the Sea" intensive course « p.m. Friday. The concert will include dances choreographed by Company Director Ellen Forman, dancer Evelyn Shepard, Pauline Koner, dancers in the course, and the pioneer of modem dance, Isadora Duncan. The performance at the Franklin Street Civic Center, Franklin St. between Lafayette and Washington St., is bpen to the public. Admission is free. THE FOURTH Annual Dance by the Sea intensive course in Cape May is offered by the Philadelphiabased South Street Dance Co. This year’s students, all college-age and adults, came from New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey to study modem dance technique and choreography. Daily glasses and workshops are held at the Civic Center and the concluding concert is the culmination of the month of study. For further information call Ellen Forman at 884-6345.

Film Classic Set Tuesday CAPE MAY - "Greal Expectations", the classic 1947 telling of the Charles Dickens story, will be shown 8:15 p.m Tuesday, Aug. 30. in the Victorian Towers Auditorium, Washington and Ocean Sts. Starring John Mills and Jean Simmons, “Great Expectations" has one of the greatest shock effects ever put on film three minutes after the movie begins. SPONSORED BY the Mid-Atlantic Centerfor the Arts, the vintage film series will wind up the season Sept. 6 with "The Bishop's Wife".'"‘starring David Niven, Cary Grant and Loretta Young. Proceeds from the series go towards the continuing restoration of the Emlen Physick Estate at 1048 Washington St.
