Skilo Reopens
WILDWOOD - After making more than $100,000 in ^repairs to their firedamaged store, managers of Boardwalk Skilo reopened the doors of the 21-year resort attraction Aug 12 to patrons of the bingo-type game “It was day and night work. People said we couldn't do it,’’ Louise Wilson, a Skilo employe, said of the 10-day repair work. “Some of it's just temporary. “The fire wall is what saved us," she added, alluding to thejearly morning Boardwalk blaze that gutted several adjoining stores between Garfield and Lincoln avenues "Everyone else is completely wiped out." Wilson t continued, citing a lack of fire walls between the fireravaged stores "The whole*thing (block) is going to have to come down.," “We're lucky we did it in 10 days," Wilson said While five-feet of water was being pumped from Skilo’s basement (where its merchandise had been stored), a new ceiling and electrical system were being installed, and debris removed, many Sfcilo’s patrons sat outside and en- * c our aged workmen. One loyal skilo player even cooked them a pot of pasta, Wilson said
