Staller’s 70th Year

WILDWOOD - Slaller's Hardware celebrates its 70th Anniversary as a resort business this year, manager Leonard Staller, grandson of the founder, announced Monday. Founder Louis Staller built his original, business in 1913 at 3600 Pacific Avenue, moved it to 3609 Pacific in 1923 and relocated 10 years later to its present location on Wildwood Avenue. Leonard's father, the late Bernard Staller, assumed management of the business in 1941 and saw it

gutted by fire in April, 1958. Rebuilt by the following March, Slaller's entered its third generation when Leonard picked up the reins after his father’s death. Bids Sought CAPE MAY-The Coast Guard Training Center is seeking bids for construction of a visitors' parking lot at the center, estimated to cost $40-80,000. Opening date for bids is 2 p.m. Sept. 22. Limited bid sets are available.

Chamber Election Going on COURT HOUSE - A slate of nominees for election to the board of directors of the County Chamber of Commerce has been presented to members of the nominating committee, headed by Dennis Curley. The board of directors will elect officers for the 1983-84 Chamber year at the board meeting Set>t. 15, Curley said. Grant Given ■TRENTON - A Social Services Block Grant in the amount of $30,484 has been awarded to Cape-Atlantic Legal Services Corporation by the Department of Community Affairs, according to Governor Thomas H. Kean. Kean said that the grant will enable Cape-Atlantic Legal Serviced Corporation to provide the legal services to the poor of Cape May and Atlantic Counties.
