Expressway Resurfacing
ELWOOD — Commis-
sioners of the New Jersey Expressway Authority have awarded a $1.657,boo contract to Arawak Paving of Hammonton, for the fourth phase of the repav ing effort underway on the Atlantic City Expressway.
Work will begin shortly
after Labor Day on the project, which will complete resurfacing of the roadway in both directions between Atlantic City and milepost 24. This phase will be com-
pleted before winter “We have had to step sip
plans for resurfacing of the Atlantic City Expressway because of the dramatic increases in traffic along the roadway in the past five years, ' reported Authority Commission Chairman William Dalton. “For the first fix months of 1983 traf
fic was up 15.5 per cent at our Pleasantville Toll Plaza and 12 3 per cent at the Egg Harbor Plaza These figures are well ahead of our predictions for the period."
