Bare Wall IJn^ergoes A Change

CAPE MAY - A bit of artistic magic, transforming a bare brick wall into a 19th century boarding house, is taking place on Washington St. The Victoria Village Plaza Mural Project, sponsored by the County Art league, is slowly taking shape, with columns, porches, spandrels, lattice, brie a brae and flowers lending verisimilitude. There are variations of a Seashore theme within each of the seven arched spandrels. Some of the. designs are the result of long studio hours, while others have been spontaneously worked in(o the mural. THE FIVE WOMEN who have put the most effort into the project thus far are Cheryl Crews-Lynch. designer of the original scheme; Barbara Knippie, Mary Federici, Maryann Cannon and Shirley Firak. They hope that the mural will be finished in November and dedicated during New Jersey Arts Week. During October in the Upstairs Gallery of the Art League, there will be an exhibit of all the preliminary work — sketches, original designs and photographs — involved in executing the mural. It is called the Victorian Village Mural Project Show.
