Patrols Tap Mogck

CAPE MAY - Beach Patrol Captain Henry ••Buzz" Mogck was elected president of the South Jersey Chiefs’ Association last week. The association includes the chiefs of beach patrols from Brigantine to Cape May Point. Mogck was installed at its annual dinner meeting in Ed Zaberer’s restaurant, North Wildwood. He succeeds Wildwood’s “Scoop” Taylor. Mogak, a three-year captain. js a 1961 graduate of

Wildwood Catholic High School and a native of Cape

May.

Survival Suit Race

CAPE MAY — As part of the Seafood Festival, a survival suit race will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at the Coast Guard Training

Center.

The contest, for threemember teams with their own survival suits, will take place off Pier 4 at the training cehter. Contestants will race 200 feet on foot on the pier, put on their survival suits, jump into the water, and swim about 200 feet across the pier basin to an anchored

liferaft.

The team requiring the shortest time to reach and enter the liferaft will be declared the winner. A prize will be awarded the winning tefem.
