The'Harrowgate Stringband played to a capacity crowd for the Cape May Rescue Squad benefit. So many enjoyed doing the Mummer’s Strut with the aid of the Harrowgate Captain, who was arrayed in full dress costume. At the first intermission, Fred Coldren, Cape May city manager, presented a plaque to Harry Salt, Atlas Motor Inn owner, for the cooperation and support he’s given the Squad. It was Salt who donated his food and drink at his place of business for the specific purpose of raising the $7,000 for the LIFE-PAC equipment needed to help ' save lives while enroute in the City’s ambulances to the hospitals. Indeed, this has been a “life-saver’’ in
so many instances. Satt is a «
man who is much admired and respected for his never-ending desire to help where it is needed. We salute you, Harry6att. At the second intermission another plaque was awarded by Dolly Stango, president of the Cape May
Rescue Squad Auxiliary, to *
the family of Margaret (Peg) Fossett. Accepting the plaque was Frank Fossett husband of the recently deceased Peg Fossett. “Peg”, as she was known to all, was an enthusiastic worker, always for the good of the Auxiliary. Her recent death was a shock indeed, and memorials in her memory were sent to the Squad, enabling it to purchase another much needed piece of equipment. The memory of Peg Fossett lingers on.
