Soak a Politician Middle Twp. Offers Range of Activities

The small tree-lined community of Cape May Court House jn Middle Township will be the scene of at least eight activities during the New Jersey Wings ’n Water Festival Sat. and Sun. ‘Til be in the dunking machine to help raise funds for the Wetlands Institute on Saturday,” says Middle Township Mayor Michael J. Voll.” Guess we’ll all find out how popular we are,” he grins bravely. Voll, Bill Sturm, Cape May County Freeholder, Pat Peteredn, Republican Committeewomen Jim Alexis, Democratic incumbert, and Chuck Leusner, Democratic Committee agreed to take turns fn the dunking at Jamesway Plaza. Voll added,” We need these events to join together our private businesses and government in this quality promotion for our beautiful area. Everyone gains. Anything needed for this celebration of nature is being given top priority. We want this to be a big success, and I will participate personally all day Saturday.” Beginning at 10 a m. on Saturday, a Boat and Fishing Show will be held at Jamesway Plaza, Rt. 9 and Dennisville Rd. along with a children’s toy fishing pond featuring many special prizes donated by merchants. At 11 a m. there. Jim Albertson will present “New Jersey Folklore Trails” in song and tales. At 2 p.m. Gerald Lynch will provide banjo music. Farm wagon rides are also scheduled during the day from the Plaza. A Sculpture Show of works by Gerald Lynch of Villas will be open in the courthouse from 4 to 8 p.m. His creations in bronze, steel, stone, wood and marble have won gold medals and ribbons in New York, New Jersey and Maryland. Booths at the Jamesway Plaza will include exhibits by the Cape May County Campground Association. Mid-Atlantic Fisheries Service, National Marine Fisheries, N.J. Department of Environmental Protection and the U S.

Coast Guard Auxiliary. The Middle Township Chamber of Commerce is providing a SeafoodFlounder Dinner at the Methodist Church, Main and Church St. from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sat. Reservations are advised. There will be a separate fee ($5.95) for dinner, and the Angelus / Chorus will perform there at 7 p.m. On Sunday, nature films will be shown from 2 to 4

p.m. at the Cape May County Library, and the Lynch Sculpture Show will continue from 2 to6 p.m. at the courthouse. ^ • The festival admission fee for all events at Court House except the dunking, wagon rides and dinner, is $2 for adults and $1 for children, 6-12. The New Jersey Wings ’n Water headquarters is at the Wetlands Institute adjacent to Stone Harbor.
