Fluke so far have dominated the state Division of Fish, Game and Wildlife Skillful Angler Awards. The largest of three fluke submitted for an award was a 12-pound, five-ounce fish caught in the Beach Haven Jplet-(a fluke hot spot) by Dr. John T. Hamberger, Jr. on June 22. ington, Bergen County. ' A 10-pound fluke,, taken by Timothy J Doolan of Bayonne July 26, also won an award. The fish was caught off Sandy Hook. Also receiving skillful angler awards were Robert L. Barros of Milford, for a two-pound, three-ounce brook trout taken from the Musconetcong River June 18; John Kauza of Pittstown for a eight pound-one-ounce largemouth bass; Richard Leptich of Middletown with an 11-pound, three-ounce weakfish caught in the Chapel Hill Channel;
Douglas Thompson of Montclair, with a fourpound, seven-ounce pickerel taken from Lake Hopatcong, and Joseph P. Hendicks of Manahawkin for a 42-pound striped bass caught from the south jetty at Barnegat Light. The Skillful Angler Award Program was instituted in June by the division in cooperation with the New Jersey Fisherman magazine to recognize
those fishermen who land fish of significant size, but not of state rexord proportions. Application forms for the awards are available at most major bait and tackle stores and from charter and party boat captains. Outdoors Jamboree Scheduled MILLVILLE — A South Jersey Sportsmen’s Jamboree, sponsored by the Cumberland County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs, will be held 8 a.m.-€ p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Cumberland Pond, Union Road, east of Millville (off Rte. 49). Exhibits will include a flycasting demonstration, trapping, canoe and dog demonstrations, decoy carving, boating, gunsmithing, wildlife art
and photos.
There will also be a free fishing contest, archery demonstration, black powder demonstration, and free supervised air rifle shooting. Food will be available at all locations. Taking part are the Goods ports, Meadowood and Menantico Clubs. Saturday is National Hunting and Fishing Day. There will be an auction of sporting goods and related items Sunday. Admission and parking are free, and there will be a shuttle bus.

VILLAS — Margaret N. (Mrs. Carl P.) Gray, of East Weber Ave., has been installed as a member of Sorts man’s Corner in the Bridgeton Recreation Center. Mrs. Gray, known in the South Jersey area as an outstanding bowler and artist, was president of the first Bridgeton Recreation Commission. She was a
member of the Bridgeton High faculty for many years. She was a 300 bowler when her husband operated bowling alleys in Bridgeton. Mrs. Gray was cited for her help in forming the Girls Community Club and girls basketball league when she was honored in Bridgeton.
