-ficers took place Sept. 24 at the Tuckahoe Post. This was also a men and women joint installation for 1963-84: president, Virginia Smith; first vice president. Penny Backs; second vice president, Angle Burdy; secretary, Gladys Pearson; treasurer, Frances Jackson; historian, Christine Madam; chaplain, Sylvia Coleman; and sergeant-at-arms, Louise Robinson. Dinner was prepared by the men of Tuckahoe Post and served by the Tuckahoe Boy Scouts; visitors included many from the Atlantic City area and a very delicious meal was enjoyed by all. • • • V I C TO RIAN WEEKEND is fast coming up. Lots of exciting times are in the throes of preparation for everyone. One very exciting event is the Victorian Entertainment Dinner Hop at the Colonial Hotel ; owner Bob Fite is opening the hotel just for, this occasion. There’ll be a cash bar and dinner (all by reservation 884-5404) with dance music, entertainment, Dixieland group, etc. etc. Dress is optional; dinner reservations area must. • • • Here's something I thought you'd Uke. It's the recipe for Sunshine Cake, what could be better? 1 cup (two sticks) lightly salted butter 2 cups sugar 4 eggs 3 cups all-purpose flour; 1 teaspoon salt; 1 teaspoon baking powder; one-half teaspoon hairing soda; 1 cup buttermilk; two teaspoons vanilla; confection’s sugar. Oil bottom of 10-inch tube pan. Cream butter in mix-v ing bowl, gradually beating in sugar until light and fluffy. Add one egg at a time, beating thoroughly after each. Add remaining ingredients and blend until moistened. Pour batter into pan. Bake in 325-degree oven about one hour. Let cool completely before removing from pan. Sprinkle with confectioner’s sugar. Serve with fresh strawberries and . creme fraicbe. Serves 8 to
10.
