The New Jersey Veterans of Foreign Wars wants to remind veterans that awards of up to $400 per year are available through the New Jersey Department of Higher Education “The Veterans Tuition Credit Program (VTCP) assists Vi/etnam era veterans with-$400 awards annually for full-time enrollment and $200 awards annually for halftime enrollment,” said Walter Merklin, state commander. "RECIPIENTS MUST be enrolled in' a course of study approved for federal educational assistance (G.I. Bill) and must have served on activeduty in the Armed Forces of the .United States between Dec.
31, 1960 and Aug. 1, 1974,"
said Merklin.
“H* Prisoner of War or Persons missing in Action Program (POW/MIA) pays the full tuition costs of dependent children of military service personnel who were officially declared “Prisoners of War” or “Missing in Action" after Jan. 1,1960. ’Hie eligible dependent child must attend either a public or private institution located in New Jersey as an undergraduate stu-
dent," he said.

AVALON - Borough Administrator Andrew Bednarek has submitted to Borough Council his report on 1983 revenues from beach tag fees and ramp and berth fees at the 54th St. marina. BEach tag revenues reached $247,461, an- increase over 1982 of $51,933. These fees represent 1,143 advanced mail sales, 23,358 pre-season sales at the v booth at $4 each; season sales at $6 each and the booth were 7,384 and by Inspectors 4,661. Weekly tag sales- at the booth were 8,150 and 17,579 by inspectors. In addition to tags sold, 10 tags were loaned for use by JINS (Juveniles In Need of Supervision), 35 for the Helen Dille? Children’s Blind Home and 50 weekly tags for use by members of .the Philadelphia Trail Club. The 54th St. Marina also had an increased revenue of *6,217 for a 1963 collection of $14,141. This represents $3,887 in-out fees, $854 season ramp fees and $9,400 for boat slips. From these receipts the fee accountant’s fee collectors and beach tag inspectors’ salaries were paid.
