FLower Show Has Capacity Turnout
STONE HARBOR - The Third Annual Flower Show sponsored by the Garden Club of Stone Harbor Oct. 1 drew a steady line of visitors. Over 12 tables were covered with entries in the various categories, including two tables for entries from school children grades one to six. The children’s entries came under a lot of intense interest. One of their tables for the youngsters in the first grade was painted pumpkins. The other table carried floral arrangements using old sneakers, snow shoes, straw hats and handbags as holders for the displays. Judges for the show were Mrs. H. Baldwin Streett, Mrs. Kempton Eisenberg and Peter Atkinson. Winners in various categories were; CREATIVE DESIGN CLASS Dancing in the Dark — first, Nancy B. Ritchie; second, Alice Supplee; third, Betsy Pfeiffer; An Affair to Remember — first, Nancy B. Ritchie; second, Penny Adkins and Mary Coffee; honorary mention, Dotty StunfJ). Harvest Basket — first, Alberta Riva; second, Fran Lewis; third, Alice Supplee; honorary mention K.C. Bennett. A “Trifle” — first, Fran Lewis; second, Mary Coffee; third, Alice Supplee; honorary mention, Penny Adkins. Novice Class — first, Mary Wheaton; second, Thelma Yeager; third, Janet King. CHILDREN'S CLASS Pumpkin Pals: Grade 1 — first, Harrison Walters second, Robin Anzalone third, Molly Doherty Grade 2 — first, Kendra Licata; second, Sabrina Anderson; third, Jennifer Taylor; Grade 3 — first, Asher Gergan; honorary mention,!
