Activities Start At Center ERMA — As fall approaches the Jersey Cape, some of the senior citizens who have returned from visits with family and friends are back in town and wending their way to the Airport Senior Center, where activities for the new season are already in progress. For the moment,, most of the concentration is on the preparations for the Christmas Bazaar, which will take place 8:30-11 a.m. and 12-3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10. Many of the bazzaar items will be the result of the talent which evolved from the center’s on-going classes in calico cats; ceramics; crocheting; crystal bead work; knitting; loom weaving; macrame; needlepoint and woodcrafts. Everything which is planned for display will be appropriate for gift-giving and holiday decorating. The price range of, the various articles will conform to even the most limited budgets. The event is open to the public and a special feature will be the afternoon bake sale. ALONG WITH the Bazaar preparations, the center is offering two SAGES courses. Basic Art, with artist Cheryl Crews Lynch, begins noon Wednesdays. An exercise program, “Keeping Fit,” under the guidance of Gail Daniels, is the the same time slot for Thursdays. Toward the end of October, the participants will pause for a month birthday party and then, lend their creativity to costume designing for the annual Halloween celebration. During mid-November, the Airport Senior Center, at Building 29, Langley and Forrestal Rds., in the County Airport Complex, will have two additional craft classes. Elementary Woodburning and Pine Cone Wreathes are being scheduled for noon.Monday, Nov. 14, and the “Memory Improvement’’ sessions will resume 8:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18. For additional information about the Christmas Bazaar or the activities and services at the center, call Bobbie Brown, the site manager, at 886-5161.
