Concert Scheduled By Angelus Chorus Stewardship Sermon Topic
WILDWOOD CR - The Angelus Chorus will present a concert at the Crest Community Church, Cron cus Rd. and Pacific Ave., 7 p.m. Sun^y. Oct. 30. The Ahgelus Chorus originated in November, 1965, holding its first
rehearsals at the Angelus Convalescent Home in Wildwood, which provided care for aged and infirm
women.

stnimental in forming the group. They enlisted the services of the late Joseph Verna as director and Mrs. Mary Griffith as accompanist. THE- FIRST program was presented at the home that Christmas by 12 women, and proceeds from ensuing concerts went to the home. When the home went out of existence, the chorus continued as a non-profit, non-denominational organization, singing at various churches and organizations around the country, and giving benefit performances for worthy
causes.
With the death of the director, the future of the chorus was uncertain. The group continued to meet and rehearse, and found Topic Luther's 'Discovery*
another director, Mrs. Gladys Lauriello, who led the group through many engagements, then had to give up the positions because of other commitments. THE PRESENT director, Sherman (Bud) Scull, is in his second season. The accompanist is still Mrs.
Griffith.

Members of the group are from,various municipalities about Cape May County and are from all walks of life. Many have been with the chorus all or most of ita 18-year existence, while others are singing with the group for the first time. Refreshments in the Social Hall will follow the Angelus concert.

Reformation Remembered N. WILDWOOD - Central Bible Church is observing Reformation Sunday at the 10:45 a.m. service, with the pastor, Dr. Alvin L. Baker, preaching a message entitled .'‘How Sinners Stand in the Presence of God.” During the 7 p.m. service, the film “Martin Luther" will be shown, followed by a Reformation Day party for children of L all ages.
