BURLEIGH - President Jay Helms and the members of the Mid-Jersey Cape Rotary Club will welcome District Governor Donald J. Yeager Tuesday, Nov. 8, at their weekly meeting at the Wildwood Golf Club at 12:15 p.m. As the chairman of the Medford-Vi ncen town Rotary Club, Governor Yeager was cited for his achievements with his club’s first International Youth Program, which earned for his club the “Significant Achievement Award” in 1971. He has also served on the Red Cross Sets Trips

COURT HOUSE - The County Red Cross Chapter will sponsor two-fund raising trips. Tuesday, Dec. 13, there will be a bus trip to Longwood Gardens with a full course turkey dinner at the historical Red Rose Inn. A side trip to the Phillip's Mushroom House is also included. Buses will leave Cape May at 8 a.m., Cape May Court House 8:30 and Marmora at 9 a.m. The chapter will sponsor a bus trip March 31 to New York Radio City Music Hall, including dinner on the way home at the Town and Country Restaurant in Borden town There will be time for sightseeing and lunch on your own during the visit. Because of the limited number of tickets ‘Guaranteed Seat” deposits will be accepted. For reservations for trip information call the chapter office at 465-7382 or chairman (8-11 a m.) 398-1488.

Post Seeks Vets’ Flags

WILDWOOD - Donations of flags once used'to drape veterans’ caskets are sought by Byron Pennington Croker Post 184, American Legion, according to Frank Turse, commander. The flags will be displayed in an Avenue of Flags to be dedicated Nov. 12 at the Beverly National Cemetery in Beverly, N.J. The Avenue of Flags Committee is seeking 900 flags, each star of which will represent a veteran buried in the National Cemetery. Soem 500 flags have been donated to date. Anyone with such a flag to give is asked to call Turse at 729-7009, with the name of the veteran, war in which veteran served, and name and address of donor. The Veterans Administration will send each donor a certificate upon receipt of

District Youth Education Exchange Committee, where he has been instrumental in establishing year-long youth exchanges from other nations to South Jersey. Governor Yeager was appointed district secretary treasurer in 1978 and district treasurer from 1979 to 1982.

N. CAPE MAY - Tech. Sgt. Anthony R. Wernert, Philadelphia, has been decorated with the second award of the Air Force Commendation Medal at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. The Air Force Commendation Medal is awarded to those individuals who

demonstrate outstanding achievement or meritorious service in the performance of their duties on behalf of the Air Force. Wernert is a jet engine technician with the 313th Air Division. His wife, Barbara, is the daughter of Debbie Gerhardt of 702 Holmes Ave.
