Dear Voters^—
It is very important that you re-elect Assemblyman Guy F. Muziani on Tuesday, November 8,1983 with a record vote from Cape May County. As a resident and the favorite son of Cape May County, Guy is on our very effective legislative team with Senator Jim Hurley and Assemblyman Joe Chinnici. The combination of experience and dedication these three gentlemen represent is what is needed to serve Cape May County residents.
Guy Muziani has a long history of community and government service extended over 20 years, including 11 years as the innovative Mayor of Wildwood. He has proven to be a skillful and effective legislator especially on the issues of our district. Guy was a leading advocate for Tourism, HUD Funds, Beach Protection Funds and more Senior Citizens Benefits to name just a few, long before he was elected fo the Legislature.
Cape May County is being very well served in the Legislature by Hurley, Chinnici and Muziani so let’s keep them in Trenton. We are asking you, the voters of Cape May County to come out on Tuesday, November 8, 1983 and give Jim Hurley, Joe Chinnici, Guy Muziani, Bill Sturm and Ralph Evans the votes needed to assure their re-election.

CAPE MAY - Capt Carlton F. Meredith, chief of personnel tor the Third Coast Guard District, decorated a pilot and two crewman yesterday rescuing fishermen from a party boat that sunk 12 miles oft shore April 16. Around 11 a.m. that day, the 60-foot "Adventure," out of the Wildwood Fishing Center with 18 people aboard, struck an underwater obstruction and radioed the Coast Guard base here that it was taking on water, Lt. (j.g.) Dennis Lawrence recalled. The Cost Guard dispatched two Sikorsky H-52 helicopters to the vessel. They lowered pumps, but the combination of eight-12-foot waves, 25-30-knot winds and the bull damage doomed the "Adventure". The party boat was already sinking, Lawrence noted. Coast Guardsmen aboard the 95-foot cutter “Cape Star” and two smaller craft had been sent to the scene, but were too far off to assist. It was up to the pilots and crewmen of the helocopters to save the fishermen and "Adventure" crew. LT. CMDR. A.E. Zimmer, the pilot, and his crewman, Petty Officer John A. Brenchak, AT2, hoisted three fishermen from the “Adventure” deck and another four survivors from the water. Lt. Cmdr. Dave Patton, pilot, and his crewman, Petty Officer Robert P. Nutter,
ADS, rescued 11 more fishermen from the waves. Patton was transferred in May to a Coast Guard air station in Detroit, Mich., where he will receive a Distinguished Service Cross for his part in the rescue. Capt. Meredith decorated Zimmer with a Distinguished Service Cross, Brenchak and Nutter with Air Medals during an 11 a.m. ceremony at the Cape May Coast Guard air station yesterday. Zimmer, 34, a native of San Jose, Calif., has served with the Coast Guard since
1972 and at the Cape May base since 1980. Married with three children, he lives on Suzanne Street in North Cape May. A Teal Street resident of North Cape May, Nutter, 28, joined the Coast Guard in 2980. Married with children, the aviation machinist tftrhnirian hails from Brown Hill, N.J. A Pittsburgh native, Brenchak, 24, has also served since 1980. The aviation electronics technician currently lives on Lafayette Avenue, Del Haven, with his wife and two children.
